Puppy Eats to Fast?

Let the EAT SLOWER® Dog Dish teach your puppy to eat slower!  Many puppies, like our Jed when he was a puppy, want to gulp their food.  In some breeds, like the Lab, it’s almost genetic in nature.  Labs will ‘eat anything’, and I mean anything!

Read the testimonial by Beverly about her two Golden Retriever puppies, Gabe and Abby.  She got then 2-Cup’s because they were going to be over 40#’s when they grew up.  The first time they used the EAT SLOWER® 2-Cups, they both increased their eating time by 300%!  After 2 months Gabe had increased his eating time by 900% and Abby by over 400%!

Now, after just 3 months with their 2-Cup size EAT SLOWER Dog Dishes, Gabe has gone from an eating time of 5 second to 1 minute.  Abby has gone from an eating time of 15 second to 4-5 minutes!  Both puppies have over a 10 fold (1000%) increase in eating time!

Great Dane Puppy.  I asked Ann if she would please test the 1-cup and 2-cup size dishes, both individually and then together, on her 'fast eating' Great Dane puppy.  Here are her results:

Hi Tom,

I have done trials of the 2 dishes for about 3 days.  My great dane puppy used to eat 1 cup of food in 25 seconds.  I now feed him 1 1/2 cups 3 times a day.  Feeding him in the 1-Cup bowl took him 1 minute and 55 seconds to eat.  Feeding him in the 2-cup bowl took him 1 minute and 50 seconds.  When I fed him out of both bowls it took him 2 minutes and 45 seconds.  Feeding him out of both bowls would probably be best, but I also have a St Bernard and a mixed breed and my kitchen really isn't big enough for the 2 bowls  and my dogs.  My great dane puppy will only be eating out of the 1-cup for a little longer because he won't be able to get the food out (he's growing fast).  I will be using the 2-cup soon.

I would also like to let you know that if anyone has a St Bernard, Newfoundland or a puppy with a bigger mouth, when they are @ 3 months old, they will not be able to eat out of the 1-cup because their mouth will be too big.

I don't think I properly thanked you for sending me the 2 cup dish in return for participating in a "study".  I just wanted to say--THANKS A LOT!!!  I love your dishes and will recommend them to anyone who asks about bloat dishes.  These are the best dishes I have ever bought.

Thanks again,

If you start to train you puppy to eat slower, he/she will learn much faster and not have to break a bad habit built up over the years!  If your puppy is going to grow up and be over 35 lbs, get a 2-Cup size.  The more that the food is spread out, the longer it takes to retrieve and eat it.  No more grab and gulp.  If your puppy is going to grow up and be less than 35 lbs, get a 1-Cup size.

Start training early and enjoy the results!  Slow eating is healthy eating!
